![]() Source: www.ruger.com Everyone should own a Ruger 10/22 rifle. 10/22's are the perfect .22LR rifle for anyone no matter your age due to the rifles ease of use, accuracy, durability, and detachable magazine. It is the standard .22LR for many groups and is likely the only .22 rifle you'll ever need to own. The wide availability of accessories and different magazine manufacturers should give comfort there will always be access to parts and hi capacity magazines. I've owned several different variants of 10/22s over the years and never have been disappointed. Ruger's design is perfect for firing hundreds of rounds without impacting functionality and work well with all hi cap magazine manufacturers. I recently added several Butler Creek 25 round magazines to my hi capacity magazine inventory for around $15 per magazine. If you do not currently own a 10/22 go ahead and buy 10/22 hi capacity magazines now before another state law restricts future magazine sales. Ruger 10/22s are very popular right now, so pick one up when you can. Pictured is a comparison of the different Ruger 10/22 variants from www.ruger.com. I currently own the Ruger 10/22 compact which can be purchased between $190 to $219.

If you can find one retail buy it. Great little gun! also consider a bolt action .22 lr as they will consume all types of .22 ammo (no magnum). This opens up a door for a bit more diversity. example; Bird shot or CB cap ammo. The 10/22 is a great choice but it prefers High velocity rounds that do generate a sonic foot print. The cb caps are as quiet as a bb gun but have more impact on small game.
